Hi and welcome to episode 147 of The ERP Minute. I’m your host, Rebekah McCabe.

Vendors took this week to announce major acquisitions for the advancement of their product offerings.

IFS announced the acquisition of EmpowerMX, an AI-powered aviation maintenance software provider specializing in Airframe Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) solutions trusted by the largest aviation organizations in the world. IFS will utilize this acquisition to develop industrial AI and industry-specific capabilities to improve value for customers immediately at the moment of service.

Then, Infor completed the acquisitions of Albanero, a data migration and management partner, and Acumen, a Revenue Growth Management and highly specialized consulting company. Infor aims to translate deep industry-centric data within the client’s specific environment into opportunities to generate greater value and profitable growth with these acquisitions. What vendors can offer is more than just a product, it is also their services. Infor understands this and will offer more to clients as a result of these movements.

In other news, Sage aims to bring value to SMBs with the launch of Inventory Planner Essentials, a new tool from Inventory Planner by Sage designed specifically to meet the needs of small merchants. Inventory Planner Essentials, initially available exclusively on the Shopify App Store, aims to help tackle a major pain point for small merchants: excess, unsold inventory. With entry-level demand forecasting and inventory purchasing capabilities, Inventory Planner Essentials makes accurate forecasting and reliable buying recommendations accessible to smaller businesses. Vendors are looking at the delivery of value within the SMB space, which is especially evident in the release of solutions like this from Sage.

Finally, Qlik announced the general availability of Qlik Talend Cloud, a comprehensive integrated solution designed to enhance data trust and accessibility for AI value creation at scale. Qlik Talend Cloud delivers AI-augmented data integration capabilities from no-code to pro-code, enabling businesses to maintain data integrity and accelerate AI adoption at all levels with benefits like enhanced data trusts, expanded connectivity, support of flexible deployment, and more. AI will remain in the spotlight as vendors continue to prioritize their AI solutions and the safe adoption of these advanced tools.
