Hi and welcome to episode 49 of The ERP Minute. I am your host, Rebekah McCabe.

Last week, Oracle Corp and Microsoft Corp announced the general availability of Oracle Database Service for Microsoft Azure. With this new offering, Microsoft Azure customers can provision, access, and monitor enterprise-grade Oracle Database services in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. Users will be able to migrate and build new applications on Azure and then connect to Oracle Database services.

Solutions built to interoperate on separate platforms ensure that enterprise software users can utilize the best services across vendors, significantly benefitting the consumer with ease of use and expanded feature functionality.

In other Microsoft partnership expansion news, Sage announced an expanded partnership with Microsoft, including plans to integrate Microsoft Business products, such as Microsoft 365 and Microsoft teams, as embedded services in Sage products and the Sage Digital Network.

This partnership lends itself well to small to mid-sized businesses with a desire for flexibility and productivity gains based on their Office 365 and Sage ERP usage. Again, enterprise software vendors working together for the benefit of the user is wonderful to see and we expect to continue to see such partnerships amongst vendors.

Deltek recently announced an agreement to acquire TIP Technologies, a provider of quality, compliance, and manufacturing execution solutions. Deltek’s President and CEO, Mike Corkery, said, “This acquisition is a natural evolution of our partnership, and will create a more effortless way for our customers to get the combined benefits of our collective solutions.”

As TIP Technologies has offered fully integrated Quality Management Systems for CostPoint, we expect this acquisition to further Deltek’s competitive position with government-related manufacturers.

In other news, SAP announced its financial results for the second quarter and half-year ended June 20, 2022. Cloud revenue was up 34% to become the largest revenue stream.  SAP S/4HANA's current cloud backlog extends its growth trend, up 100%.  SAP’s cloud backlog exceeded approximately $10.23 billion, up 34%.

SAP’s financial results further cement its position in the ERP space. We hope to see SAP continue to capitalize on its strong financial growth to continue to innovate and expand.

Finally, Planful released strong momentum within its reporting for the first half of 2022. Subscription bookings beat the previous best-ever quarter by more than 20%, while customer expansion bookings surged 41% year-over-year.

As mentioned in previous episodes, Planful has proven itself as an employer who is contributing to the health of its workplace, through achievements with Great Place to Work and being awarded Human Resources Department of the Year. This commitment to its employees likely contributed to its strong financial boom in the first half of 2022 with more resources being poured into Planful’s offerings.
